All monies recovered, less our commission, is direct credited to our client's designated bank account on the 1st working day of the month following recovery.

Clients enjoy direct access to their debt information via our own online Portal, real-time tool, DebtCtrl. Debts can be loaded online as well as notes and payment information made directly to you. This is instantly updated and sent to your Credit Account Manager.

We provide regular feedback and guide you through the debt collection process while making recommendations on the most cost effective action to take.

There are times when a field visit is required as the debtor is unable to be contacted by phone, and emails and letters are ignored. An option is to recommend a field visit where one of our many reputable Agents, located throughout New Zealand and Australia, will visit the debtor and obtain information on their whereabouts.  The goal of these visits is to confirm the debtor's whereabouts, including their property, vehicle ownership and confirm their up to date information.

Our field agents can, on locating, interview the debtor/s to discuss their financial situation and negotiate payment arrangements.  Costs are involved and our friendly team will discuss these with you and obtain your approval prior to being undertaken.

In New Zealand, if a debt is $125+ and not disputed, for a small cost, a default can be loaded on the national debtor database.

The benefit in utilising this service is evident when a debtor applies for credit. The default will show on their credit history for five years. At some stage the debtor will likely apply for credit, at this point we often receive a call to see how they can clear the debt and clear their name. 

Aorangi Debt Collection offers a complete document service and provides sworn Affidavits evidencing the service. Where possible we serve all documents within 24 hours of receipt.

There are times when a debt cannot be recovered via the normal methods and legal action will be recommended by our Credit Account Managers. Aorangi employs an in-house Legal Executive who manages all aspects of the legal process (including bankruptcy and liquidation proceedings) and will keep you fully informed throughout the process.  Having our own in-house legal team keeps our client's costs to a minimum.

For debts incurred in Australia, with debtors residing in New Zealand, Aorangi will arrange to obtain Judgement in Australia and have the Judgement transferred to the NZ District Court jurisdiction for enforcement.

When a debtor disagrees and disputes the payment of an account, legally a Recovery Agency is not able to continue to pursue the debt and at this point your Recoveries Manager will discuss the process in managing a disputed debt.

Aorangi provides a consultation service for any debts that may need to be managed via the Disputes Tribunal. For a small fee we can assist with the preparation of the Evidence Summary, filing and preparing you for the hearing. Following the hearing, and if required, Aorangi will assist with enforcement of the payment.

In New Zealand, the criteria for using the Tribunal include:

- The debt in question must be disputed;
- The total owing must not exceed $30,000;
- Both the Creditor and Debtor must appear. Representation cannot be assigned to a third party.

Aorangi provides a service where we prepare you for the Hearing and assist with the preparation of the Evidential Summary to be used at the Hearing.

Aorangi is a registered New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 Reporting Agency.  We provide a due diligence service to confirm identity when applying for a New Zealand Inland Revenue Number, without having an operating bank account in New Zealand.
